Steffen Liebelt, Managing Director of the Kieler Volksbank Foundation, saw the new stove and the wide range of services offered by the Kieler Anker for himself. Vanessa Trampe-Kieslich, Head of Social Assistance at Diakonie Altholstein, Lukas Lehmann, Managing Director of Kieler Anker, and Mark Mrugalla-Gühlcke, Head of Education in Schaßstraße, introduced him to the work of the facility. In the kitchen, Miguel Cerros Campos and Marcus Rundkowski reported on the daily challenges of planning and preparing meals with changing food donations.
Kieler Anker, a subsidiary of Diakonie Altholstein, runs three lunch tables in Kiel. In Schaßstraße, a hot meal is offered five days a week for people in need - around 10,000 portions a year. "Our lunch table not only offers food, but also community, structure and a piece of home for people who are otherwise often marginalized," explains Vanessa Trampe-Kieslich.
Steffen Liebelt emphasized during the visit: "We are pleased to support a project with this donation that provides concrete help and strengthens the community. The Kieler Anker does important social work in the middle of Kiel."
