In our kitchen in Kieler Schaßstraße, we prepare affordable meals, such as a daily lunch, and accept other catering orders on request. People from our community are employed in the kitchen and supported by volunteers.

For many years, the Kieler Anker kitchen has thus ensured that hungry people receive a hot meal every day. The visitors not only receive a reasonably priced meal, but also experience community and maintain social contacts. Lunch also helps them to structure their day.

Every working day, up to one hundred meals are prepared in the Kieler Anker kitchen, which are served by the Manna lunch table in Schaßstraße and by us in the Gaarden neighborhood drop-in centre (Räucherei).

The starting products for the meals are donated food, for example from the Kieler Tafel food bank and the canteens of Stadtwerke Kiel and the Domicil senior care home. Kieler Anker relies on donations from companies and private individuals to ensure that the service can continue. Every euro counts.
