Kiel anchorages - the social street layout

You will experience the not quite everyday city tour with our "anchor points", rather the places of people who are usually talked about a lot. They are given a voice and show you their Kiel and their stories.

Our guides are people who, for a variety of reasons, have not always been on the sunny side of life and who talk about their personal experiences during the tours, thus facilitating exchange and conversation. This is not a way to talk about them, but to experience their individual life stories together.

The approximately two-hour "Anchor Points" tour takes you past places that are otherwise not mentioned in travel guides: A meeting place for drinkers instead of a harbor tour, a place to make a record instead of a luxury hotel, a contact store for drug users instead of a shopping mile. The focus is on understanding those affected, people who are also part of Kiel and who have their very own view of the city and make it accessible to others.

As the guides offer guided tours in pairs and each route is based on their personal focus, there are different tour plans. They receive an expense allowance for their voluntary work and are allowed to accept tips.

We would also like to thank the Kiel Donors' Parliament for funding the guided tours in Kiel Mitte (2023) and the City of Kiel, which supported the guided tours in Gaarden in 2023 and 2024 with funds from the "Kiel Gemeinsam Gestalten" ("Shaping Kiel Together") program.

We are currently financed purely by donations and the fees for the guided tours and look forward to your support:
